Weather warnings have been avoided by our region again this morning, but low temperatures meant that many awoke to a blanket of frost and ice covering ground and cars.

Many experienced temperatures as low as minus four before 9AM this morning.

Conditions remain below freezing into Friday morning

For the rest of the day, conditions are set to get slightly warmer, with highs of around three degrees from 12PM until 3PM.

The climate changes again later in the evening, once again dropping below freezing.

Through the winter period, those who drive will find they need to de-ice their cars before setting off on a journey. The RAC have provided some important information to motorists to avoid issues and fines during the season.
