VOTERS are going to the polls to elect a Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall today, Thursday, May 2. 

Conservative Alison Hernandez, who has been the PCC since 2016, is standing for re-election. The other two candidates are Steve Lodge for the Liberal Democrats, and Daniel Steel for Labour.

Everyone voting in person must show photo ID, such as a passport, driving licence, blue badge or an older person’s bus pass. You can use an expired ID if you are still recognisable in the photo. 

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.

The address of the polling station you must vote at is printed on the poll card sent to you in the post. You can also find your polling station online here: https://wheredoivote.co.uk/.

Most of England and Wales will be choosing police and crime commissioners for their area.  

Some councils, including some seats in Exeter and Plymouth, are up for election. 

People will also be choosing regional mayors and whom they want as Mayor of London.
