VOTERS are going to the polls to elect an MP for Central Devon today, Thursday, July 4.
Conservative cabinet minister Mel Stride, who was first elected in 2010, is standing for re-election.
The other five candidates are Ollie Pearson for Labour, Mark Wooding for the Liberal Democrats, Gill Westcott for the Green Party, Jeffrey Leeks for Reform UK and independent Arthur Price.
Central Devon covers Crediton, Okehampton, much of eastern Dartmoor and Ashburton.
Everyone voting in person must show photo ID, such as a passport, driving licence, blue badge or an older person’s bus pass. You can use an expired ID if you are still recognisable in the photo.
Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.
