HIGH quality local art and craft will be showcased at a fair in Upton Pyne Village Hall, near Exeter, on Saturday, November 18.

Popular Exeter artist Sally Tuckey, who has family connections with the village, will be there together with potter Jane King, professional photographer John Howells and crafter Maggie Clark who all live in Upton Pyne.

Other local craftspeople and artists will be selling a wide range of unique hand-made items including watercolours, decorations, cards, jewellery, hand-sewn cushions and household items, woodcrafts and more.

The 2018 Upton Pyne calendar, featuring exhibits from the "Wedding Memories" festival held in the village in May, will be on sale and there will be a raffle of items donated by the stallholders.

The fair takes place between 12 noon and 4pm, entry is free, and coffee, cakes, light lunches and afternoon teas with be available. The hall is in the centre of the village, a mile off the Crediton road just outside Exeter.

The fair is being organised by the Friends of Upton Pyne and proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the Grade 1-listed village church.

Organiser Linda Findlay said she was delighted with the quality and range of arts and crafts that would be on sale.

She explained: “Each year the fair becomes more and more popular with exhibitors and visitors alike and it is definitely a fixture now on the local arts and crafts scene. We aim to combine good quality work with delicious catering in a village setting that has unrivalled views of the local countryside.”
