A CREDITON public toilet block that had its door handle torn off has reopened after a two-week closure.
The gender-neutral Newcombes Meadow loo now has a new handle and is open as usual from 9am to 4pm.
Graffiti that appeared on the sign recently has also been cleaned.
The Crediton Town Council toilet block is covered by CCTV 24 hours a day, but the local authority has asked anyone who knows anything about the vandalism to get in touch.
You can contact Crediton Town Council by telephone on 01363 773717 or by email at [email protected].
You can also report information to the local Crediton police team on 101.
Vandalism of the external fob and internal emergency exit system also shut the toilet block in March 2021 just two weeks after it reopened.
The town council said it is “still working hard” with Mid Devon District Council to install new loos in Newcombes Meadow near the play area.
