A CHANCE to have a go at being a chorister is coming up at Crediton Parish Church.
All young people are welcome to go along to the open morning on Saturday, September 28.
The day will start at 10.15am with a welcome and introduction followed by some singing. This will be followed by a break at 11am before seeing how the organ works at 11.15am.
From 11.30am attendees will sing again before performing the music in context in a short service at 12pm.
Lunch will be at 12.15pm, after which children can go home.
“Enjoy singing? Ever thought of singing in a church choir? Why not give it a try?” a spokesperson said.
“By meeting existing choristers you can hear what it is really like and have some fun while learning to perform some music with them.
“You will hear about the sorts of music we perform – from weddings to Christmas carols – as well as in regular services.
“You will hear about the social activities which follow practice on a Tuesday evening, and about the trips to famous cathedrals.
“And you would get paid as well, not to mention the biscuits!
“The normal minimum age is seven but we welcome children of all ages.
“It is never too late to join a choir and it’s fun!”
Those wanting to go along should email Director of Music Jon Rawles at [email protected] to let him know.
