AN evening of stories from Gaza told by an “internationally renowned storyteller” is coming up in Crediton.

David Heathfield will be speaking at Crediton Arts Centre from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Thursday, October 10.

“Happy, heartbreaking, funny and poignant tales” learned from children and teachers in the war-torn area will feature.

There will also be a live link-up with a teacher from Gaza during the evening.

It comes as part of a project named “Tell a Child in Gaza’s Tale” which Mr Heathfield and English teacher Haneen Jadallah launched in January to “[humanise] Palestinian learners of English through storytelling”.

Tickets for the event cost £5. Additional donations to Gaza relief charities are welcome.

Crediton Arts Centre can be found on East Street in the town opposite Holy Cross Church.
