CREDITON and District u3a is set to host a talk on an exciting episode of the Second World War.

Martin Pailthorpe will speak on “The Heroes of Telemark and the raid on Norway” in the Boniface Centre next to Crediton Parish Church on Wednesday, June 19 from 10am to 12pm.

In 1943, Norwegian sabotage and Allied bombing raids successfully crippled a plant in Telemark in Norway which the Nazis had been using to produce heavy water – which could have been used to build an atomic bomb.

Entry costs £1.50 including refreshments.

The meeting is open to everyone including non-members.

You can also become a member of Crediton and District u3a and join any one or more of over 20 interest groups.
