CREDITON and District Playscheme for Children with Special Needs is delighted to have been selected as one of the charities to be included in the next blue tokens donation scheme operated by Tesco at both of its Crediton stores.
The Playscheme, a registered charity, says it hopes that Tesco customers will vote for it to enable it to provide more fun days out for children at Easter and in the Summer.
It says that these days out are to places like Woodlands or Pecorama and give the children a stimulating experience in the company of other children, whilst also providing respite for their families.
If sufficient funds are raised, then the charity says it will arrange for some children to attend the Calvert Trust on Exmoor, which is a specialised outdoor adventure centre.
Volunteers from the charity will be holding a fundraising collection of donations at Crediton Morrisons store on Saturday, April 1 to raise funds towards an Easter trip for the children.
The Playscheme is run by volunteers with a paid supervisor and deputy on each trip, and is always looking for new volunteers to help on the committee, to help fundraise or to accompany a child on the trips.
Anyone interested is invited to contact Margaret Gibson on 01363 866641.
