A CREDITON supermarket has donated £8,000 to local charity, Age Concern Crediton.
Morrisons is this year celebrating its 125th birthday and as part of celebrations, its Foundation agreed to support 125 charities across the country with a share of £1 million.
Age Concern Crediton was nominated by the Crediton Store’s community champion Hazel Evely and store manager Ben Cooper and a bid was put together by Chelsea Yelland, Age Concern Crediton operations director.
Chelsea expressed her thanks to Crediton Morrisons for the donation and said it would enable it to continue with it vital work in the community.
She said: “Our focus is on combating isolation in the community .
“Some of the money will be used towards our existing activities, our lunch club, coffee morning, memory cafe, art club, community club and home support and foot care services.
“We will also use some to update our website and IT services.
“We don’t want anyone to be alone, please come along to Age Concern.”
