THERE were strawberries galore at the Friends of Sandford School Strawberry Fair, held on the school field on Saturday, July 6.

Many of the famous Sandford strawberry cream teas were enjoyed.

You have to be pretty fit to climb the hill to go to the event, but those who made it to the top enjoyed a fine afternoon.

There were a range of stalls and attractions including guess the name and weight of the sheep, a children’s entertainer, teddy tombola, jazzy jars, skill games, face painting, tattoos, welly wanging and the every-popular “Wet The Rector”.

There were vintage tractors and old agricultural items to admire plus a model tractor display.

From a music tent local musicians played or sang and the school band played.

The Wet the Rector, throwing the sponge at a target game was pretty wet for the volunteers sat under the bucket!  AQ 6997

Mission Wild Adventure Club had an activity and there was also a ball in a bucket game plus a great draw.

There was an ice cream van, Sandford Orchards bar and a picnic area.
