MORE than 2,000 homes in the Crediton area have been hit with power cuts due to Storm Darragh.

A combined total of 1,063 households in and around Crediton are without electricity.

An additional 568 properties at Lapford, 602 at Witheridge and 18 at East Worlington also do not have power.

National Grid estimates the problem will be fixed by at most midnight tonight.

“Our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible,” a National Grid spokesperson said.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.”

Further updates as we have them.
