• Crediton’s Tesco store and fuel station at Wellparks have now reopened after five power cuts this morning.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Our Crediton Superstore and petrol filling station are now open again following a brief closure caused by a local power outage. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

UPDATE: The store will close until 2pm when Tesco will update on the situation.

THE Crediton Tesco superstore at Wellparks and its fuel station are temporarily closed due to a series of power cuts as a result of Storm Darragh.

A spokesperson at the scene said at 12 noon today, Saturday, December 7: “I am sorry but the store is closed at the moment.

“We have had a series of power cuts which have affected our systems and we have to wait for these to re-start.

“I would advise that you come back at a later time.”

The spokesperson was unable to say when it might re-open.
