A LOCAL mum of three has been growing her hair and intends to donate it, and any donations she can raise, to The Little Princess Trust.
Star Grehan (33), from Bow, explained: “After almost 10 years I have decided to donate my hair again to The Little Princess Trust.
“They need 12 inches of hair to make wigs for children and that’s pretty much all of mine so no doubt I will be having my head shaved again for this worthy cause which I am so happy to do.
“It costs £550 to make just one wig and I would really like to raise as much money as I can to help.”
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free-of-charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.
The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.
The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
Star said that losing close family members to cancer had inspired her to donate to the charity again.
Star will have her hair cut at Nikki Blanchford Hair and Beauty Salon in Crediton on Thursday, November 30.
To donate, you can do so at the salon or go to www.justgiving.com and search: Starla Grehan.
