THE annual St Nicholas Fair, which raises funds for the running, work and ministry of Crediton Parish Church, took place in the Boniface Centre on Saturday, November 25.
There were a variety of stalls selling lots of different items including jigsaws, jewellery, cakes, children’s books and Christmas cards.
The Medieval Fruit Machine was entertaining and Rev Lewis Eden, curate, ran a “Come and Ask” session concerning questions of faith.
There was a Silent Auction, a tombola and many more stalls.
Other churches ran stalls – the Methodist Church, St Lawrence Chapel and St Swithun’s, Shobrooke. Bridge Books from Exeter also had a stall.
Admission was free-of-charge and refreshments, including light lunches and cakes and scones were served.
Special this year was a stall selling items made with macrame and a stall dedicated to all things craft and haberdashery including embroidery thread, tapestry wool and kits and fabric.
Anne Jerman, event co-ordinator, thanked everyone who attended and confirmed that £1,740 had been raised, which she said was a much better result than the last one.
