FALLEN trees and an earlier points failure due to snow are still causing issues on the railway through Crediton.
There are currently no trains operating on the Dartmoor Line between Exeter and Okehampton or the Tarka Line between Exeter and Barnstaple.
GWR said it has a train running between Exeter and Okehampton with Network Rail staff inspecting the line and removing the trees as they find them.
When this is finished, it hopes to be able to start running trains, but does not have a precise estimate for when this will be. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
More than 150 Exeter-bound students were stranded at Crediton railway station this morning due to the snowfall.
No replacement buses are available due to poor road conditions, but GWR has been able to establish a limited coach shuttle between Barnstaple and Tiverton Parkway.
“Road conditions mean journeys are taking longer than usual and we are unable to provide exact times for these coaches, you may have an extended wait at either end,” a GWR spokesperson said.
Further updates as we have them.
