A SMALL, but enthusiastic group of parishioners and parish councillors took part in the Annual Parish Spring Clean in the village of Sampford Courtenay on Saturday, May 26, which was again organised by Sampford Courtenay Parish Council.
Marion Pratt, clerk to the council, said: “The volunteers picked up bags of litter that had been dropped out of cars, and also pulled weeds, strimmed around and washed road signs, and generally gave the village a once over.
“Other parishioners promised to do some tidying but were otherwise occupied during the bank holiday.
“It was also suggested that it would be nice if parishioners would like to ‘adopt’ the patch of village outside their home and generally keep it tidy and weed and litter free.
“A big ‘Thank you’ to all those who helped on the day and ‘Thank you’ to Alison and Alice at The Cider VAT for our glass of cider and pasty once we had finished.”
