CREDITON Police have issued a Rural Farms Alert covering Hemyock, Crediton, Exeter, Honiton, Colyton, Culmstock, Puddington and Axminster.

Crediton PCSO Lisa Crocker said on Wednesday, December 4: “Over the last 10 days we have had eight rural crimes reported to us where plant equipment, livestock trailers, diggers, and machinery have been stolen.

“The locations have been Hemyock, Crediton, Exeter, Honiton, Colyton, Culmstock, Puddington and Axminster.

“Please be vigilant, lock and secure all farm and plant machinery and consider all forms of security.

“Every form of security creates another barrier - don’t give them an easy opportunity to steal your property.”

She added: “If you see any suspicious people or vehicles please take the registration, description, time and date and contact police.”

Use the 999 number in an emergency and the 101 number if it is not an emergency.
