THE annual Queen Elizabeth’s School Bake Off and bake sale took place on Friday, March 23, in order to raise money for Sport Relief.

Each year students compete against each other to be awarded the Star Baker trophy, and this year was no different.

There was an array of cupcakes, sponge cakes, a five-layer cake, a cream and strawberry cake and a pool and swimmer fondant creation.

Mr Rupert Poole, principal, judged the competition both on taste and appearance and awarded first place to Ruby Chudley for her beautiful four-layer chocolate cake with fondant decorations.

Second place went to Martha Brook for her chocolate cake with buttercream icing and mini figures running a race.

Third place went to Hattie Fry for her exquisitely detailed chocolate cupcakes with sport themed decorations.

The cakes were then cut up and sold to raise money for Sport Relief.

A huge thank you went to all that baked, bought and ate all the delicious goodies.
