ON Friday, September 23 at Crediton Congregational Church, the Royal British Legion Crediton Branch Committee will be holding a Drop-In Volunteer Day.
This will be held in the Karis Hall (access via the outside of the church in Belle Court, up the slope).
Everyone is invited to pop in for a tea or coffee (free) and a chat between 10am and 1pm about volunteering for the Annual Poppy Appeal and find out how monies are utilised.
Jane Sansom, Poppy Appeal Organiser for Crediton, explained: “You do not have to be member of the Legion to help.
“Please come and find out more. If you helped last year, or in previous years, you are more than welcome.
“Again this year we will be concentrating on collecting at both Crediton Morrisons and Tesco supermarkets.
“We will have contactless collecting machines to practice on and rota sheets to pick your slots for collecting so please bring along your diaries.
“There are no plans this year for High Street collections or any street collections.”
Jane confirmed that the Annual Poppy Appeal for Crediton has, so far for 2021-2022, reached a record £14,020, including Platinum and Falkland badges held in Evans Newsagents.
