A SIX-YEAR-OLD Crediton girl has read as many as 50 books in a library reading challenge.

Robyn began the feat in the spring and received her Secret Book Quest certificate from Library Supervisor Sue Lee at Crediton Library on Thursday, October 24.

Her favourite books are the Rainbow Magic series by Daisy Meadows. Her other hobbies include swimming and mathematics.

She plans to read a further 50 books to reach a total of 100.

The Secret Book Quest involves reading a set number of books, collecting stickers and deciphering a code.

If your child is a burgeoning bookworm, they can sign up for the challenge at their local library.

It is described as “an exciting reading challenge for children ages five and up”, and features characters Pip, Zena and Libro the cat, created by illustrator Emily Fox, embarking on a reading adventure through 10 themed zones.
