Drivers in and around Mid Devon will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M5, from 8pm September 16 to 8pm October 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 lane closures overnight, hard shoulder closures during the day. For resurfacing works.
• M5, from 8pm September 16 to 8pm October 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 lane closures overnight, hard shoulder closure during the day. For resurfacing works.
• M5, from 9am July 18 2022 to 11.59pm August 29 2027, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 28 to 29 hard shoulder closure in both directions for parapet works.
And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8pm October 1 to 6am October 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 27 entry slip road closed for resurfacing works. Diversion via northbound to junction 26, to turn and return southbound.
• M5, from 8pm October 1 to 6am October 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 27 exit slip road closed for resurfacing works. Diversion via southbound to junction 28, to turn and return northbound.
• M5, from 8pm October 2 to 6am October 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the A38 and B3181.
• M5, from 8pm October 2 to 6am October 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the B3181 and A38.
• M5, from 6am October 3 to 9pm October 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes lane closures and hard shoulder running.
• M5, from 6am October 3 to 9pm October 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes a lane closure and hard shoulder running.
• A30, from 7pm October 4 to 6am October 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A30 westbound, Alphington to Cheriton Bishop, including entry slip at Fingle Glen, carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via Ide lane, Tedburn road, Five Mile Hill, Tedburn st Mary to rejoin A30 at Cheriton Bishop/Woodleigh junction.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
