THE Garden of Remembrance was dedicated at Crediton Parish Church on Saturday, October 29.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 11, Armistice Day, two minutes’ silence will be held at 11am at the Crediton Town and Hamlets War Memorial, assemble from 10.45am.

The Leader of Mid Devon District Council, Cllr Bob Deed, and the Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Liz Brookes-Hocking, will be in attendance along with many representatives of the local branch of the Royal British Legion and a representative of Crediton Hamlets Parish Council.

Maroons will be set off at the beginning and the end of the silence.

The Remembrance Service at Crediton Parish Church on Remembrance Sunday, November 13, will begin at 10am followed by the Laying of Wreaths and Silence at the War Memorial at about 11am.

It will then be followed by the taking of the Salute in Crediton Town Square immediately afterwards.

Jane Sansom, the Poppy Appeal Organiser for Crediton, said that wreaths required for laying at the Crediton War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday, November 13, need to be collected from LeRoy Funeral Service at 94-95 High Street, Crediton (usually closed for lunch) adding that it is advisable to telephone beforehand on 01363 772326.
