HAYWARD’S Primary School has been presented with two awards for reaching a high standard of inclusion, particularly in relation to special educational need. Head Teacher Andy Smith, centre, received the Devon Inclusion Awards for Communication and Interaction for reaching Specialist status for Autism and a similar award for reaching Targeted level at Speech, Language and Communication Needs. The awards were presented by Paul Lamanna, professional lead, centre left, and Alison Cann, advisory teacher, both with the Communication and Interaction team from Babcock LDP in partnership with Devon County Council. Pictured with the awards are some of the children from the school with the awards and some of the parents, and Mrs Ruth Dixon, right, deputy head teacher, who was praised for her work in helping the school achieve the awards.
