I NOTE that our elected representatives on Crediton Town Council have declined to accept an offer of a portrait of King Charles, our Head of State, to be hung in the Council Offices. The Mayor of the Council states that more than half of 250 people who voted in a referendum on this were not in favour and therefore she would not be making a request for the portrait.
So, according to Liz Brookes-Hocking 126 people out of a catchment area of 11,000 or more was the deciding factor.
She calls this democracy, I think not.
What an absolute disgrace. They should hang their heads in shame until they hang the portrait of our King in the Council Offices.
