“Wow! Wow! Wow! It was an absolute delight to watch the Year 6 play this afternoon. The costumes, make up, props and scenery were all incredible and the children did you all so proud. I was blown away by their singing, dancing and acting - and felt quite emotional at times!”
“I just felt like I needed to send an email to you, along with the staff involved and all of the children for the most wonderful performance of a very special stage show ...the hours of work and commitment from you all is just clear to see and the children evidently have enjoyed it.”
The musical “The Lion King” is based on the 1994 Disney film of the same name which turns thirty years old in 2024.
In their performances the children performed in four indigenous African languages: Xhosa, Setswana, Zulu and Swahili.
The famous score includes songs such as: “Circle of Life”, “I Just Can't Wait to be King”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” and “Hakuna Matata”.
Thanks to went to the Spencer family for their help and support with props, lighting and sound and all the staff of Hayward's Primary School and the families of the Year 6 children for their hard work and support.
