STUDENTS from Queen Elizabeth’s School’s 6th Form, supported by Involve Mid Devon, have launched a pre-loved school uniform store.
QE Ecothreads is committed to reducing the school’s environmental footprint by extending the life of school uniforms.
Through donations, the students aim to keep clothing out of landfills, cut down on carbon emissions, and promote a culture of sustainability within the school community.
Money raised will be split between supporting further sustainability projects at QE and local charity, Crediton and District Playscheme for Children with Additional Needs.
The students explained: “We urgently need donations of QE School uniform.
“Don’t bin it - donate it and be part of the change!”
Tamlyn Fraiquin, Crediton Community Builder, Involve Mid Devon, said: “It is a privilege to be supporting such an amazing group with this initiative.
“Their passion and enthusiasm is truly inspiring. This is such a positive project for the community, I can't wait to see what they plan next.”
The items the group would like to receive includes QE School blazers, QE School ties, school trousers, school shorts, school skirts, shirts, PE kit, school shoes, bags and coats.
Drop-off points for donations of clothing are: QE Barnfield campus reception, QE Western Road reception and Crediton Library.
A request is that donated items are clean and in decent condition.
A student added: “We will be making small repairs, including sewing on new buttons and ironing items as required.”
