THE crowds turned out for Crediton ELF Fundraising Group Summer Fete held at Homefield, Bow on Saturday, August 17.

There was an impressive stall of plants, mostly grown and donated by local resident Wyn Headon, from Copplestone.

Cream teas were served to many people, tables and chairs placed across the lawn.

There was a bumper raffle and other games as well as bric-a-brac and cake stalls, and one selling donated knitted items and toys.

A spokesperson for the Group said: “A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Summer Fete.

“It was a wonderful afternoon and we appreciate the number of people who came along to support the event.

“Special thanks to Christine Stevens and Jan Martin for all their hard work organising the fete, and to Linda and James Steer for kindly providing their lovely garden as the venue.

“The fete raised an incredible £2,400 for Exeter Leukaemia Fund, which will be used to directly fund projects and equipment at the RD and E Hospital's Haematology Centre in their vital care of patients and families affected by blood cancer within our community.”
