A QUIZ night held in Crediton raised £1202.53 for the Christian charity Connect, to raise money for its youth work in the town.

The quiz was held on Saturday, January 18 and 15 teams of six people took part, 90 people in total.

Wendy Anez, Chair of the local support group for Connect in Crediton, organised the event along with her team made up of volunteers from the local churches which support Connect.

She said: “There was a good vibe and people enjoyed the quiz.

“We had the bar running as well as a huge raffle. We served nibbles and a pasty and then a variety of cakes.

“We do this annually to raise money for Connect, a local youth work charity.

“Our current youth worker is called Will Jago and he is working at Queen Elizabeth’s School supporting in lessons, mentoring, putting on lunch time clubs and drop-ins etc.

“Dave Poulson, youth pastor of Crediton Congregational Church, also gives some of his time from Crediton Congregational Church to support Connect in school too.
