THERE has been plenty of praise for the efforts of local volunteers who took part in the latest clean up of a Crediton street and pavement.

Crediton Urban Taskforce [CUT!]’s day of action involved cleaning up Jockey Hill, where the volunteers did a great job.

The volunteers pulled up weeds, swept up litter and spruced up the area, making a tremendous difference.

Pathways, kerbs and public spaces were really transformed and it is now much safer for pedestrians to walk up or down the pavement on Jockey Hill.

[CUT!] is a volunteer-led initiative that was brought forward by members of the community and which is supported by Crediton Town Council, which is grateful for the volunteers efforts.

It was born following the activity and expertise of a small group of volunteers led by Paul Vincent.

Weeding is a non-statutory service that was once provided by Mid Devon District Council but that service was withdrawn.
