A LEVEL students at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton received their results at the school’s Western Road campus, this morning, Tuesday, August 10.
Rupert Poole, Principal at QE said: “Some welcome sunshine greeted our students this morning as they came in to school to collect their results.
“After a difficult and disrupted two years of their education QE students have shown tremendous resilience and adaptability.
“Obviously, the process to award the grades was different this year, with grades awarded on the basis of evidence that students demonstrated in their work.
“Our students responded well to the changes and studied hard throughout the various lockdowns - they have the right to feel very proud of their achievements.”
He continued: “We are very pleased with the outcomes for our young people, the overwhelming majority of our students got their university of choice, including Oxbridge, and we wish all our students the very best as they take their next steps - whether to university, work or apprenticeships.”
He concluded: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff who always work incredibly hard to support our students, and this year particularly so with the demands of online teaching and the awarding process in addition to everything else they do.
“On behalf of all staff, I wish our students the very best for the future. They have proved that QE’s core values of respect, reflection and resilience will get you a long way, no matter what the challenge is.”
Jo Cherrett, Head of Sixth Form said: “This year group has been a very special group of young people to work with.
“They have worked so hard and immersed themselves in their online learning, thereby keeping their studies going throughout the lockdowns.
“They have been positive and optimistic and I could not be more proud of them, my best wishes to you all.”
