POLICE are appealing for witnesses of a three-vehicle crash on the M5 which saw a man airlifted to hospital.

The collision happened between junctions 28 and 29 near Exeter at around 2.25pm on Friday, July 12 and affected both the northbound and southbound carriageways.

A blue Vauxhall Astra, a black Skoda Octavia and a white Iveco Daily were involved in the crash.

The occupants of the Skoda both sustained injuries.

The 33-year-old male driver was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with injuries thought to be life-changing, and the 50-year-old male passenger was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Vauxhall was checked over by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
