MID Devon Ploughing match was held on October 5 at Trobridge Farm, near Crediton, by kind permission of George and Iain Mortimer.
Although entries were less than normal due to clashes with matches in Somerset and Cornwall, the judges commented on the high standard of ploughing, and the competitors enjoyed dry conditions.

The champion ploughman was awarded to Peter Stone from the Vintage Trailed class.
The classic and multi furrow conventional classes saw a good number of entries, with the latter having grown at the match over the last few years.
The YFC championship was awarded to Anna Mortimer with reserve champion, Elliot Ford, both from Cheriton and Tedburn YFC.

Fiona Mortimer, secretary, said: “The Mid Devon Ploughing Club will be presenting a cheque to Devon Air Ambulance for £500.”
Ed Vigers, chairman, said: “The club want to thank the various local businesses who sponsor the match, without their support the club would not be able to run the match or support the charity.”
