A YEOFORD woman has applied for planning permission to turn part of a field on the southern edge of Crediton into a secure dog-walking area.
Sue Hennig wants to use the eastern corner of a larger piece of farmland off the public footpath known locally as Tinpot Lane, which rises above Landscore to the south-west of the High Street.
The new area would “provide members of the public with a safe, secure environment to exercise their dogs”, planning documents say.
The site would have 1.8-metre-high plastic-coated green wire mesh fencing around the perimeter. The entrance would have a “traditional” timber five-bar gate.
Only people who have booked sessions would be able to use the field, and only customers with a maximum of two dogs could use the facility at any one time.
Mid Devon District Council will decide whether to grant or refuse planning permission at a later date.
