OUTSTANDING young Cellist Indira Grier will be performing in Crediton Parish Church at 3pm on Sunday, September 19, with piano accompaniment. It promises to be a rare musical treat!
Indira has been performing as a concerto soloist since the age of 12 and has just completed a Masters degree with Alexander Chaushian at the Royal College of Music.
Previously she was taught by Melissa Phelps and then by Troels Svane at the Musikhochschule Luebeck.
Her many successes include winning the RCM Unaccompanied Bach Prize, the RCM Concerto Competition, the 2016 Royal Overseas League Competition, the 2014 Tunbridge Wells International Young Artists Competition, the 2012 Bromsgrove International Young Musicians’ Platform, as well as a Gold Medal in the 2019 Vienna International Music Competition.
Indira has performed across the UK and Europe and has participated in masterclasses with David Geringas, Frans Helmerson, Thomas Ades and Steven Isserlis.
She is a keen chamber musician and has worked with artists including Simon Crawford-Phillips, Andrew Marriner, Clio Gould, Matthew Truscott and Rebecca Gilliver. She frequently performs as part of the Grier Trio.
The concert will take place in line with current Government Guidelines. Ticket holders will be notified if there are any alterations to the event but please keep an eye on the local press as well.
