NOMINATIONS have opened for candidates to fill a vacant seat on Crediton Town Council.
It follows the disqualification of Georgina Stone, who represented the Crediton Lawrence ward, for not attending meetings.
The window for nominations is open until 4pm on Friday, February 28.
If the election is contested, people will go to the polls to vote for the candidate of their choice on Thursday, March 27.
If the election is not contested, the role will be filled automatically with whomever is nominated.
Nomination papers should be delivered to the Returning Officer, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP.
They can be obtained from the same address, by emailing [email protected], or online at middevon.gov.uk/your-council/voting-elections.
Applications to register to vote (for people not already on the electoral register) must reach the electoral registration officer by midnight on Tuesday, March 11. Applications can be made online.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday, March 12.
Applications for a voter authority certificate or an anonymous elector’s document valid for this election must reach the electoral registration officer by 5pm on Wednesday, March 19. Applications can be made online.
New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday, March 19.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Thursday, March 27.
When it has a full complement, Crediton Town Council is made up of 12 councillors.
Six represent the Boniface ward and another six the Lawrence ward.
