CREDITON Parochial Church Council “urgently” needs a new treasurer. 

It comes as its “dedicated and conscientious” previous treasurer had to stand down sooner than expected due to health reasons. 

You do not need to be part of the church family to take up the post, as long as you have the right skills for the job. 

"It is a big job as the PCC turns over a considerable amount of money each year and is registered with the Charity Commission,” a spokesperson said.  

“But on the plus side, there are mechanisms and processes in place, an accounting software package up and running, a local, helpful independent examiner and the support of a small finance group.”
