THE increasingly popular music and beer festival Thorfest will be returning to the grounds of Thorverton Memorial Hall this coming Saturday, September 14, running from 12 noon to midnight.
Organisers Mark Welsh and Sam Fice, said: “This has always been a celebration of what the locals love about their community, a big party organised and staffed by villagers, locally sponsored, showcasing a broad range of local musical talent.
“As well as creating a great day, all funds raised are invested back into supporting the Thorverton community.
“To-date the festival has raised substantial funds that have been ploughed back into the village, supporting the next generation of Thorvertonians coming through the primary school and pre-school, improvements to the Memorial Hall, a revamping of the village Christmas lights, plus supporting local societies and clubs.”
They explained that there will be 12 hours of top-quality live music on the “Main Stage” in the marquee, plus more than six hours of music running concurrently on the “Live Lounge’ stage, giving everyone plenty of choice for entertainment.
There will be high quality locally sourced food, with plenty of ciders and ales coming from local breweries.
This will be the fifth Thorfest, hence this year’s festival being dubbed “Thorfest V”.
To be kind to revellers pockets, everything is costed to be “sub-pub” prices on all food and drinks at just £4 (you can buy tokens at the desk on entry).
Children are welcome, but the festival cannot support dogs. Entry is £7 which includes your pint cup and programme. Thorverton hopes to see you there!
