SANDFORD Stores has been trading for 10 years and to help celebrate this milestone, last Saturday, December 3, the Brown Paper Bag Mummers from Crediton Arts Centre gave a performance in the square of their comic tale about St George and the Turkish (sorry, Wolverhampton-ish) knight.

There was cake, of course - lovely chocolate fudge cake made by Peck & Strong.

Customers were also treated to tastings of warmed mulled berry juice by the Bloomberry Juice company from Clyst Hydon - a delicious alternative to alcoholic drinks.

This was accompanied by a tasting of Chinns pork and apple burgers and apple and stilton sausages, parmesan and fennel biscotti and Roly’s scrumptious fudge.

Just a sample of the tasty local products in Sandford Stores.

The Brown Paper Bag Mummers have been performing for more than 10 years and can often be seen around the area at this time of the year.

After the Sandford performance the Mummers appeared at the Crediton Farmer’s Market.

Their post-play collections help to raise much needed funds for the Brown Paper Bag Theatre Company and the Arts Centre in Crediton.
