MOTORISTS are being reminded by Crediton Police that parking is not permitted in the Crediton Police Station car park.
In a Crediton Policing Team statement issued this week, a police spokesperson said: "Crediton Police Station is an Operational Police Station and the car park is not for public use.
"We have seen an increase in parked non police vehicles left or sat waiting to collect/ drop off individuals or the yard being used as a turning space for larger vehicles.
"While we appreciate there are parking issues on Churchill Drive, this is not a Police matter and any complaints should be directed via the Highways Department at Devon County Council.
"We would however like to remind people in addition to this, that emergency vehicles responding to incidents are required to exit the station and Churchill Drive on blue lights, and inconsiderate parking on junctions, or poorly positioned parked vehicles, are making this ever more difficult and unsafe.
"The Officers from Crediton Station police a huge geographical area and Officers drive some distance in response to 999 calls and this is being hindered by peoples’ inconsiderate and disrespect of other road users.
"Please take this gentle reminder on board, but be grateful that we have Officers here who want to get to you to help you or your family and friends and we need your support".
