A CREDITON group is looking for more families or individuals to host Ukrainian refugees.

Crediton is home to more than 40 refugee families from Ukraine and many meet up at the weekly Conversation Cafe which is held at Crediton Congregational Church.

Cafe organiser Jennie Ford said: “As the Ukrainian war drags on, there is still sadly a need for hosts under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.

“It is coming up to the third year anniversary of the beginning of the war in Ukraine which is on February 22.

“The Cafe has been running almost that long and we are really pleased that we recently received a Wellness Grant which will enable us to run some classes and workshops.

“This will include art, movement, running, Ukrainian egg painting and drumming.

“The Cafe allows residents and refugees to catch-up and connect.”

Anyone who has a room or rooms and could host a refugee is asked to get in touch.

Financial incentives are offered to those who can host.

The scheme is administered by Mid Devon District Council and Jennie can put anyone who can help in touch.

If you could help, contact Jennie on 0796 7121274 or email: [email protected] .
