It is organised by Christians Together in Crediton and involves acts of worship and the carrying of a large wooden cross by a volunteer, just as Christ would have done, to each of the Christian churches in the town.

The Methodist Church hosted the ceremony in Newcombes Meadow, a similar ceremony held in the Town Square, where everyone was invited to write a prayer on a card to hang in a tree.
