FOR the first time for many years, the bells of St Mary’s Church at Morchard Bishop were rung to see in the New Year.

The ringers who took part were Les Partridge, Jeanette Richardson, Wendy Vere, Michaela Rodd, John Crotty and Bob Robinson (tower captain).

Also present but not ringing were Ceri Jones and John Charman.

Morchard Bishop also has other ringers who were not able to be at the church for the occasion.

They are Denis Cann, Fred Cann, Massimo Proietti, Mike Tharratt, Jasper Williams and Andrew Rice.
