NEWS that the road from Yeoford to Crediton will be closed for a month to enable drainage and patching works has received a mixed welcome.

Some fear that the one shortcut motorists will take will see everyone travelling via Punchbowl Recycling Centre about which one person said: “This road doesn’t have potholes, it has craters!”

They added: “It seems like they close roads at the drop of a hat these days.”

There have also been fears about how farmers will be able to tend their animals in the fields.

Others have said that they welcome that potholes and resurfacing works will take place on the road.

The works by Milestone Infrastructure on behalf of Devon County Council will take place from Monday, July 22 to Friday, August 16.
