Mid Devon's motorists will have 15 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M5, from 8pm October 17 to 6am October 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 29 exit slip road closures, for electrical works, diversion M5 southbound, via M5, junction 30, diversion M5 northbound, For A30/Airport use M5, junction 30, all other traffic via M5, junction 28.
• M5, from 6am October 3 to 9pm October 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes a lane closure and hard shoulder running.
• M5, from 6am October 3 to 9pm October 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes lane closures and hard shoulder running.
• M5, from 9am July 18 2022 to 11.59pm August 29 2027, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 28 to 29 hard shoulder closure in both directions for parapet works.
And a further 11 closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 8pm October 22 to 6am October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 lane closure for manhole strengthening, as part of resurfacing works.
• M5, from 8pm October 23 to 6am October 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the B3181 and A38.
• M5, from 6am October 24 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes a lane closure and hard shoulder running. Maintaining three running lanes.
• M5, from 6am October 24 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes lane closure and hard shoulder running, maintaining three running lanes.
• M5, from 8pm October 28 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 lane closure for manhole strengthening, as part of resurfacing works.
• A30, from 7pm October 30 to 6am October 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Woodleigh to Whiddon Down carriageway closure for resurfacing, diversion via old A30 through Crockernwell.
• M5, from 8pm November 1 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the A38 and B3181.
• M5, from 6am November 2 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to 26 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes lane closure and hard shoulder running.
• M5, from 6am November 2 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 narrow lanes with 50mph speed limit for resurfacing works. Includes lane closures and hard shoulder running.
• M5, from 8pm November 3 to 6am November 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the A38 and B3181.
• M5, from 8pm November 4 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to 28 carriageway closure for resurfacing works. Diversion via the A38 and B3181.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
