IN his annual New Year’s Message to the people of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch MBE, the Mayor of Crediton, reflects on the “wonderful year” the town has enjoyed and looks forward to an even better year in 2020.

He writes: “Has it dawned on you that 2020 is a Leap Year?

“This means we all have an extra day to help others, do good in our community and generally ‘get things right!’

“As I look back on 2019 as Mayor of our wonderful town I do so with righteous pride that has seen the Town Council put on a number of events culminating in the recent ‘best ever’ Christmas in Crediton and our Patron Saint, St Boniface, becoming the Patron Saint of Devon.

“Having looked back on a successful year we must not be complacent but move on to make Crediton an even safer, cleaner and healthier Town.

“Recent national events will impact upon us as individuals and perhaps change the focus of the Town Council, but Kirtonians can rest assured that we shall endeavour to equal or improve on what we have achieved this year.

“On behalf of Natalia and all town councillors and staff I wish you a Happy New Year!”
