A 73-YEAR-OLD man from Buckfastleigh has been arrested after a traffic stop in which police seized around four and a half kilograms of cocaine.
Officers stopped the car on the A30 near Exeter just before 10pm on Monday, May 13, as they believed it was linked to the supply of drugs.
The cocaine is estimated to have a street value of over £300,000.
“This was a great stop by officers who safely intercepted the transportation and distribution of multiple kilos of cocaine into Devon,” DCI Sam Smoothy said.
“Drugs have a detrimental impact on our communities, and we will pursue those who intended to commit crime here while supporting the vulnerable in our communities.
“No-one should put up with illegal drug activity and the associated crimes and behaviours, so I urge anyone with information, to please report it.”
