CREDITON Chamber of Commerce members voted against the deletion of the protected route for a bypass from the development plan currently being considered by Mid Devon District Council.
The decision was made at the June meeting of the Chamber, held at Graphic plc, Lords Meadow Industrial Estate.
The meeting thanked Jenni Pitts for stepping in and taking charge of organising hanging baskets in the town.
It was noted that the operation had a late start and that Mid Devon District Council was unable to help this year but had promised that, if approached in good time for next year, they would be able to assist and support with watering.
He suggested that the Council and Chamber work together to prepare a bid for the regeneration money.
A sub-committee was formed to look at the possibility of establishing a loyalty card scheme for Crediton.
The meeting was told that the Chamber of Commerce and High Street traders had some good television coverage prior to the General Election.
The date of the next meeting will be September 14.
