A NORTH Tawton artist’s work has been exhibited in Crediton.

Janet Jarvis is self-taught and enjoys painting a variety of animals, such as cattle, sheep and birds.

“I have always drawn and painted,” she said.

“But it wasn’t until I retired from teaching in 2010 that I really developed my work in pastels and acrylics.

“I especially enjoy painting Devon’s amazing farm animals, wildlife and pets.

“I love the challenge of displaying the textures of fur and feather on paper or canvas and trying to capture the character of each animal.”

Mrs Jarvis’ work is often on display in local galleries, and she regularly has a table at agricultural shows. 

Gilbert Stephens LLP solicitors hosted a collection of her paintings at the private exhibition in Crediton on Thursday, October 17.
