JUST over two years ago, the Lions Club of Crediton decided to undertake the production of the Crediton Talking News.
The Lions became involved because they wanted to help blind and partially sighted people to feel less isolated within the community.
Since the very first production they have increased the number of listeners from 26 to 41, who now receive the news on a weekly basis.
Progress has been made with the overall quality of the recordings by being able to update certain items of equipment.
One of the items purchased was a number of microphone headsets for the readers which eliminate background noise.
A recording of the Talking News has been made every week the "Crediton Courier" has been published since February 2015.
A special mention needs to be made to the group of volunteer readers and supporters whose hard work and dedication to the project is vital to its success.
The Lions are always looking to expand the service, which is totally free and would welcome enquiries from anyone who would benefit from receiving the Talking News.
